THE BUFFALO BILLS
For those coming into town a little early... The Buffalo Bills play the New York Jets in Orchard Park on Sunday, 12/29. The Bride & Groom will be tailgating at O'Neils Stadium Inn and attending the game. Please come join us in tailgating if you'll be at the game! Feel Free to reach out to Katie if you need help coordinating.
Buffalo AKG Art Museum
Spend a few hours walking around the beautiful Albright Knox Gallery! One of the oldest art museums in America. Fun fact: Katie took art classes here growing up because her mom volunteered at the gallery. Its gorgeous and just completed an expansion! Highly recommend! 15 minute drive from the hotels & right in Elmwood village.
Niagara Falls
A natural wonder of the world just a 30 minute drive from the hotels! Reminder to pack your passport if you're planning to view from the Canadian side.
Buffalo Canalside
Walk around Buffalo's waterfront & ice skate or try curling! The skating rink is also right outside the Key Bank Center where the Buffalo Sabres play. Walk to fountain plaza and hop on the train by the hotel down to the harbor or grab a 5 minute uber. Make sure to stop into the Labatt Brew House to warm up.
Buffalo Zoo
Fun to explore even in the winter! Great activity for those visiting with kids. Located in North Buffalo ~10 minute drive from hotels.
FOOD
This list was IMPOSSIBLE to make because there are so many restaurants I would like to recommend in Buffalo but tried to focus on places that would be convenient to the hotel blocks and then wings.. of course.
Breakfast & Lunch:
Swan St. Diner - the best diner food in Buffalo but typically there is a wait so go early!
Public Espresso - located inside historic Hotel Lafayette. Delicious for coffee & a fast casual breakfast. Walking distance from hotels.
Kostas - This is not downtown but a staple worth mentioning! It is located in North Buffalo on Hertel Avenue. The Feeley's neighborhood! Great for breakfast or lunch - this is Stephen's favorite place to eat when visiting Buffalo.
Ted's Hot dogs - There is a location close to the hotels if you get that mid-winter hankering for a red hot! Extra pickles on the side, please.
Dinner & Drinks:
ABV (Allen Burger Venture) - Another one of Stephen's favorites - big surprise! Located in Allentown - a quick drive / uber or a 15 minute walk from the hotel. Delicious burgers and a fun bar.
Lucky Day Whiskey Bar - Great vibe for dinner and cocktails. Walking distance from hotel. However, please note they are closed Monday so not an option for before welcome drinks.
Tappo- Delicious Italian food walking distance from hotels. A fun option for dinner before welcome drinks - and they have igloos on their rooftop in the winter! Reserve one of these prior if interested!
Graylynn- Gin Bar & small plates - 5 minute walk from welcome drink location!
Left Bank- Probably the Feeley family's favorite place to get dinner in Buffalo. You'll need to make a reservation here but delicious and a quick drive from hotels.
Daniela - Another Feeley favorite. Not walking distance but in Elmwood Village and delicious for pizza & pasta.
Big Ditch Brewing- Walking distance from hotels. Make sure to get a hayburner while there! (If you go for lunch...you might want to make it a day burner!).
The Place - A Mo & Joe Feeley favorite! It will be the perfect time of year for a Tom & Jerry so cozy up at this neighborhood spot and make sure to get the banana pepper dip.
Ballyhoo - Right downtown - casual bar for links & drinks!
Cole's - Located on elmwood avenue - a quick uber from the hotels. Old faithful & classic Buffalo Bar. French onion soup is a must order.
Eddie Brady's - A classic Buffalo bar near the hotels. Their steak sandwich is NO joke.
Okay let's talk wings...
Gabriel's Gate - About a mile from hotel on Allen St and delicious option for wings. If you're staying within city limits, this is probably your best option.
Bar Bill - Out in East Aurora (an adorable town with great shops worth visiting if you have some extra time!).. this is Katie & Josh Allen's #1 recommended place for wings & Beef on Weck. Make sure to try both if you make the trip! They also have a new location in the North Towns.
Late night snacking - Katie's kryptonite is a chicken finger sub from Jim's Steakout. If you're not going to add blue cheese just skip it all together. The Stinger also comes highly recommended. Vegetarians do not enter.
